Gypsophila (Baby’s Breath): a romantic cloud of beautiful flowers

Gypsophila or Baby’s breath is a much loved ornamental plant that evokes a sense of romance. Baby’s breath is an excellent cut flower for floral arrangements and also very suitable for drying to decorate wreaths and other floral arrangements. This strong perennial is a wonderful border plant, known for her long flowering period from June to August and is also an excellent choice for planting in rock gardens.

Gypsophila may look delicate, but it’s a strong ornamental perennial that even grows well in poor, sandy soil conditions. To grow well, Baby’s Breath prefers a sunny spot in the garden, but also tolerates partial shade quite well. Our most popular varieties are the white flowering Gypsophila Paniculata and delicate pink shaded Gypsophila Rosea.
