Leucojum – summer snowflake
Leucojum is a member of the Daffodil family. It's a hardy and beautiful perennial with fresh green foliage and delicate and fragrant snow-white coloured flowers that resemble snowdrops. Leucojum is quite rare in our gardens, and that's a real shame, because Leucojum is a beautiful, low maintenance and strong flower bulb. Leucojum is excellent for naturalizing and is easy to dig up and replant, when their clumps get too large. Leucojum is also very suitable for growing in pots and containers.
Leucojum Gravety Giant and Aestivum
Leucojum aestivum and L. Gravety Giant are tall varieties, more commonly known under the name ‘Summer Snowflake'. Leucojum has unusual flowers, as each flower has a small, subtle green dot at the tip of each individual flower petal. Leucojum is a stunning, rare and protected plant. As they bloom from late spring to early summer (April to June), they truly extend the spring flowering season in the garden and combine beautifully with tulips as well as other flower bulbs.
