Freesia Tigridia bulbs (also known as Tiger flowers or Shell flowers) are a gorgeous and colourful addition to your flower garden. Like Daylilies, Tigridia flowers only bloom for one day. Yet the Tiger Flower blooms so profusely, you can enjoy their bright and cheery spotted flowers from July well into August. Plant Freesia tubers in moist soil and do not water for a few days to prevent them from rotting. Plant the tubers in spring to mid-April and they will bloom in July / August. Freesias are not winter hardy and need to be lifted before first frosts. They prefer semi-shade to full sun.
