The ornamental Allium, Allium Albopilosum, also known as the Persian Onion or Star of Persia, has beautiful silvery purple/pink globe shaped flower heads, standing firmly erect on slender stems. The plant remains attractive, even after flowering. Alliums add much needed interest to the garden and are very versatile and easy to combine with other plants. Alliums attract bees and butterflies and need little maintenance to thrive. They are also excellent cut flowers.
